Birth, Comfort Measures for Labor and Newborn Care
​
Join us for a hands-on, practical workshop designed to help you and your partner feel more prepared for birth, labor, and those first few weeks and months at home with your new baby.
​
Part 1: Comfort Measures for Labor
During the morning portion of class, we'll focus on practical techniques you and your partner can use throughout labor. We'll practice hands-on comfort measures together so your partner can feel confident supporting you when the time comes.

Partner-assisted comfort measures for early and active labor

Non-Touch comfort techniques (aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, affirmations, etc)

​After a quick break, we’ll shift our focus to newborn care and cover everything you need to know to feel confident and prepared, from those first few moments after birth through the days, weeks, and months to come.

Part 2: Newborn Care
We’ll cover all the newborn care basics, plus so much more, so you feel confident, prepared, and ready to meet your baby!

Safe sleep practices and creating a safe sleeping environment

Room temperature and newborn body temperature, including what's normal and when to be concerned

Diapering basics, what you'll need, and hands-on practice

Cloth diapering, including options and how it differs from disposable diapering

Feeding and diapers during the first few weeks, including what to expect and how these change as your baby grows

Swaddling techniques, and how to safely and comfortably swaddle your newborn

Baby wearing, and all the options
-
Soothing and comforting techniques, for your newborn, re-create the womb

Newborn procedures offered at the hospital immediately after birth, so you understand what may be offered and can make informed decisions

What to expect during the first couple of weeks at home, including common newborn behaviors and adjusting to life with your baby

Postpartum discussions, and preparing for the transition home

Newborn and postpartum resources, including where to turn when you have questions or need additional support

A FREE 3-hour breastfeeding class that you can complete at home, online and at your own pace

My goal is for you and your partner/support person to leave class feeling more prepared, informed, and confident heading into labor and those first few months with your new baby.
​
Classes typically run from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm at
Full Circle Yoga in Longmont, Colorado.
​
Cost: $290 per couple with a $50 deposit.
​
Current doula clients receive a special discounted rate of $275 per couple.
